I'm actually in favour of a DKP system.. I've seen both the officer loot rules and DKP systems. Though DKP systems all have their shortcomings and you kinda gotta try them all on until one type of DKP system works.

Community (officer) loot ALWAYS ends up that the people that can brown nose the best or are popular (favoritism happens) get loot before others that actually NEED.. and there is FAR less transparency between officers and guild/legion members.

For each item given out Officers would have to explain and justify every choice. And screw up once or forget someone... and the shit hits the fan rather quickly.

Well, seems things are pretty even. I can tell you that I won't be doing favorism, but I wouldn't want an officer that would prefer favoritism neither. So that is out the question. I think we could do without, but it shouldn't be a problem right now if we do start or not. So this debate can go on though retail and I think we will find something out after our first instance (fire temple) and first seige.

Other than that, in order for me to ever use it, somebody would have to volenteer to show me the basics. Even if we don't use it I would like to learn.

Usually people come out with DKP addons. Just wait for one to come out for Aion and read it's readme. =D

But the main DKP systems are zero-sum, and a bid system. Googling zero sum dkp, or something similar should be enough to learn "the basics". If we do go dkp, I vote Zero-Sum.

in my oldWoW guild we used Suicide Kings. Real simple process. It rewarded you for showing up, but didn't really hurt you too much when you aren't able to make a raid. Just didn't move up on the master list. A simple outline of the Suicide King's system

man loot council is where its at.

loot should be awarded for dedication, effort, and competence.

not on who needs it more.

if your gear sucks that doesnt mean youre useful to the legion and deserve loot, you know?

I never really understood why no guilds ever stuck with good ol need before greed rolls I think its just as fair as long as you still have leader distribution so they can still check and make sure so someone doesnt accidently roll need who doesnt need it. Also for those who say what about the guy who raids everytime shouldnt he deserve it before the guy who doesnt well the more you raid the more chances you have on loot so imo you dont deserve it more you deserve it the same.

My one problem with this system is it does not take into account how good or bad a player is.
