Thread: Pre ordering questions.

  1. #1

    Default Pre ordering questions.

Ok so im planning on pre ordering the game as ive been following it pretty closly for some time now and im 100% certain that i want to waste the next "x" amount of my life playing it.

I'm looking for a pre order so i can get a beta key and some of those "pre order" only items, however i have never pre ordered anything before.

I would be getting it threw gamestop, im assuming once i buy it i will get a beta key emailed to me and instructions where i can get the client etc.

Now on their web site it says "ships 9/22/2009" which is the day the game is released. Wouldnt that mean that i wouldn't actually get my copy untill like a week later? So i would miss my 2 day head start and have to wait for the game to arririve in the mail before i could actually play it, if thats the case i would be better to buy it locally the day its released.

Also gamestop says that you will receive these items with a pre order:

Exclusive in-game items including the Dark Cloud Helmet (stat boost), Talisman of Lodas (XP boost), and the GameStop Exclusive Ancient Ring of Fire.

I was wondering if anyone had any additional info on these items, especially the ring since its a gamestop exclusive, and im sure amazon has a differenrent "exclusive" item, I would want the best "exclusive" item for my class.

If anyone has any info on these items or the process of pre ordering i would appreciate since like i said its the first time i will be pre ordering something.

    Thanks

PS: I'm Canadian if that makes any kind of difference.

Not sure how the Canadians do it. My best bet is calling gamestop. If you put like 5-10 dollars on the game they will give you a beta key right there. So you can call the nearest ones and see if they have any left. If you preorder online you pay in full and have it mailed to you.

You may not be able to pre-order the Collector's Edition anymore. I had pre-ordered mine a couple weeks ago and I went in this past Friday with a friend to Gamestop and they told us they recieved and email on Thursday saying they couldn't reserve anymore.

Not sure if this was just locally or if industry wide.

Usually if you go instore to pre-order a game they will give you the beta information when you purchase, if not just remind them. Once you create an account and use the beta code and early access is included with that pre-order, you will be able to play from the downloaded client and they give a grace period of usually 7-10 days after release date to allow people to activate a retail code with the account.

    Hope that helps.
