Help with Comp Building
Alright. I set-up the following:
1000W PSU, Core i7 920 2.66, Dual GTS 250, EVGA X58 SLI board, VISTA Ultimate 64, Liquid Cooling Throughout, Max Fan Setup, Decent Sound/Speakers, and I think I'm all set.
However, for the network card I have the Intel Gigabyte 10/100/1000 card. Should I get the Killer Xeno or is that not needed and overkill? It's a big price difference.
ANY input is appreciated.

lol It sounds like you stole my system specs for my future compy.

Which network card will you be going with? lol

Not going withone. I am fine with the ethernet off the board. *shrugs*

Hmm... the network card confuses me. I may only need onboard. Maybe I should read up.

I'd love to contribute, but I'm not too good at that stuff.

I'd ask Latex. He tends to be pretty good with that stuff.

You shouldn't need a network card. Your motherboard should have one (or more) Ethernet jacks built in. This will handle all your online needs, including gaming.
Forgot to mention I have a gigabyte mobo in mine, I think that is what you said you were getting right?

unless your getting http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=eVGA dont bother with a network card your on board one will be more then enough all that network card does is do the work so your proccesor dosnt have to yes it is better then onboard reducese lag but its not worth it at all fyi if your getting the X58 board what one theres a few of them but i think almost 95% of them are tri SLI if so and u ever decided to use that you wont be able to use a soundcard or network card just keep that in mind
note all new MOBOs come with giga bit connection either keep in mind your modem is only 100 meg lol less you got a t3 line running on through your house lol or your router suports ot to connect to a network your not even going to use the 1 gig lines lol o also if you went to a shit load of LAN party then you would get to use it lol but most of them are even useing onboard
bottom line i would stick with the onboard theres no real reason to go for the PCI network card
